City of Lacon Ordinance on Burning

·     No open burning of any refuse with the exception of landscape waste within the city.

·     Burning of landscape waste shall be limited to that which is generated on the premises.

·     Open burning of landscape waste must be controlled to prevent smoke or offensive odors.

·     All burning of landscape waste shall be constantly attended, and shall be completely extinguished before leaving the fire.

·     No burning of landscape waste after sunset.

·     No burning on Halloween or on national holidays.

·     No burning on city streets, alleys or sidewalks.

 

Any person convicted of shall be guilty of a petty offense and shall be fined not less than $250 nor more than $750 for each offense, and each day of violation occurs or is allowed to remain constitutes and shall be deemed a separate offense.

Sticker renewal is $35

Penalty for not having a current sticker is $75

Please provide proof of current insurance.

City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 – 4:30 p.m.

If you have a new golf cart that needs to be inspected, please call 246-6111 between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and we can set up an appointment to have it inspected by the Chief of Police.

YOU MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND BE 18 YEARS OLD TO OPERATE A GOLF CART IN THE CITY.
